Recruitment and Assessment Team

Members of the Oxford Research Team

Our research team is made up of a number of different people with different roles. Below you can find out more about the people involved in the Staying Well After Depression study.

Recruiters

Our recruiters speak to people who are interested, or possibly interested, in taking part in the trial, either on the phone or via email. They conduct initial screening, to make sure that the trial is likely to be suitable and keep in touch with people throughout their involvement, making follow-up appointments, and answering any questions people might have. They also receive referrals from general practitioners, psychologists and others, and advertise the trial in the community.

 Assessors

Our assessors conduct detailed interviews with people who are interested in the trial and find out whether the trial is likely to be suitable for them. Once a person has entered the trial, they are invited back for follow-up assessments, every three months for a period of 15 months. In the vast majority of cases these assessments will take place with the same assessor on each occasion. The follow-up assessments allow us to find out how people are doing, and ultimately whether the treatments people have received have been helpful. However the assessors are not allowed to know whether a person has received treatment or not, so they are not influenced in any way!
